What is backflow?

When dirty water flows the wrong way

Backflow is the unwanted flow of contaminated water back into your clean drinking water supply. It usually happens when water pressure drops abnormally, letting hazardous substances, chemicals or bacteria get drawn back into the system.

Backflow prevention & testing

Every device is tested at least once a year by our qualified testers, and the results are submitted to the City of Ottawa for you.

Backflow site surveys

We’re qualified to complete your site survey. The City requires a new survey every five years. We assess cross-connection risk, recommend the right protection and submit the survey for review.

Backflow installation

All installations are done to CSA and local standards, with the correct device for your building’s hazard level.

Backflow maintenance & repair

When a device fails its test, our experienced tester inspects it thoroughly to confirm the cause, then repairs or replaces it, often on the same visit.
